Argenta
Argenta, one of the largest towns in the province of Ferrara, has a modern appearance as it was rebuilt after the Second World War. There is every probability that its name comes from Arx cinta (city surrounded by a wall), although other sources claim the place name comes from the silver (argentei) reflections formed by the wetlands that cover the rural area (rura arientea). As regards nature, the area around Argenta is among the most interesting in the province, thanks to one of the few ecological museums existing in Italy.
