Second edition - From Mantua to Ferrara by canoe between history and culture
Timetable
PROGRAM
- 30th August - 1st Day
First stage is 20 km (no current in this first stage between Campo Canoa and Mincio Estuary).
The arrival of canoeists is expected at 7am at Campo Canoa over the Lower Lake of Mantua.
Participants will receive their registration documents and tickets for the refreshment points alongside the passage of “conca of Governolo”.
At 8am the departure for bringing the cars at the arrival point at San Benedetto Po where at 8,45 the shuttle bus will leave to bring the participants back at the departure in Mantua.
• 9.45 Inauguration ceremony of the event with the partnership of Mantua municipality
• 10.30 Departure from Campo Canoa along the Mantua Lakes
• 13.00 Passage through the conca of Governolo
• 14.30 Arrival at Mirasole beach
Canoeists will be welcolmed by volunteers and guided to the shuttle bus that will bring everyone to the facility arranged for overnight (showers will be available for participants as well). A snack is organized by the Municipality of San Benedetto Po.
During the afternoon canoeists will visit the Museum (Museo Civico Polironiano) and the Abbey of San Benedetto Po, one of the most beautiful village of Italy. The tour is organized with a guide. Dinner is offered by the Municipality of San Benedetto Po with the cooperation of voluntary associations.
At 23.30 the shuttle bus will bring canoeists at the facility arranged for overnight.
- 31st August - 2nd Day
Second stage is 20 km.
Canoeists arrival is expected at 7,30 at Mirasole beach close to the restaurant Vecchio Cornione where participants of this second day will receive their registration documents; At 8am canoeists must bring their cars at the arrival point at Ostiglia where at 8.45am the shuttle bus will leave and bring everyone back at the departure point in Mirasole.
• 09.30 Departure from Mirasole
• 11.00 Break with snack at the isle in front of Quingentole's dock
• 13.00 Arrival at the Boschina isle (Ostiglia)
Canoeists are welcomed at 13.30 at the Villa on the Boschina Isle for the lunch organized by the Municipality together with the Proloco of Ostiglia.
Showers will be available and participants can get prepared for the overnight on the isle. During the day there will be the chance to visit the Boschina Isle guided by the WWF volunteers of Mantua, the towers of Ostiglia and The Palazzo Ducale of Revere with its Museum of River Po.
Dinner will be served at Revere organized by the Municipality and the Proloco.
At 23.30 the shuttle bus will bring canoeists back to Ostiglia for the overnight.
- 1st September - 3rd Day
The third stage is 30 km
Canoeists arrival is expected at 7,30 at Ostiglia at the entrance of Boschina Isle right under the bridge. Participants will receive their registration documents. At 8am canoeists will have to bring their cars at the arrival point at Felonica where at 8,45am the shuttle bus will bring everyone back
at the departure point (Ostiglia).
• 09.30 Departure from Ostiglia
• 11.30 Break at the beach of Carbonara di Po with snack organized by the Proloco Carbonarese
• 14.00 Arrival at the Canottieri of Felonica
The lunch will be served at Felonica and will be organized by the municaplity of Sermide-Felonica with the partnership of Proloco and Canottieri of Felonica.
Canoesists will have the possibility to use the showers at the river dock and get ready for the overnight. During the afternoon there will be the chance to visit the Museum of the Second World War of Felonica. With the shuttle bus we will reach Sermide and after a quick visit of the village we will move to the place where dinner is offered by the Municipality of Sermice-Felonica with the cooperation of Proloco and the Nautical Association of Sermide.
The shuttle bus will bring everyone back at the facility arranged for the overnight.
- 2nd September - 4th Day
Fourth stage is 35 km (7km with no current between Mandracchio di valle della conca di Pontelagoscuro to darsena of Ferrara)
The arrival of canoests is expected at 7,30am at the Canottieri of Felonica where participants will receive the registration documents.
At 8am participants will have to bring their cars at the arrival point in Ferrara where at 9am the shuttle bus will bring everyone back at the departure point in Felonica.
• 10.00 Departure from Felonica
• 11.30 First break in the Bondeno area
• 15.00 Second break in the Occhiobello area
• 17.30 Arrival at the dock of Ferrara
Canoitst will be welcolmed with a Closing and Award Ceremony. A certificate of attendance will be given to each participant. The Ceremony will be organized by the Municipality of Ferrara.
