Torah fonte di vita
The exhibit delves into the central role in Jewish life played by the Torah — the foundation for all of Judaism, source of reflections that articulate all phases in the life of each individual and of the community as a whole.
The three halls explore different moments in which an individual comes into contact with the Torah: in the synagogue and community through the public readings during prayers; during public and private rituals, reflected here in the ceremonial objects crafted to underscore the importance of the Torah and the holidays; and the space dedicated to the many facets of Jewish texts and thought.
The organizers’ desire is, with this exhibit, to return to the city, and the general public, an important part of its identity, helping preserve and enhance the treasures of local Jewish cultural heritage.
